At Living Waters College, we believe that deep learning occurs when students experience and participate in activities beyond the traditional classroom. They have the opportunity to gain organisational and leadership skills appreciate the importance of team work and develop a healthy self-esteem.
Students in Years 1 to 6 have the opportunity to be elected onto our SRC. The SRC is an excellent platform for students to develop their leadership skills and to work with a range of year levels in making important decisions that benefit the College. The SRC is a great way that our students can serve each other and the wider community.
Living Waters offers a variety of camps and outdoor educational experiences. Our camp program focuses on developing communication, leadership, team-building and organisation skills while providing opportunities for reflection, cultural understanding and environmental awareness. Our camps and sleepovers are designed specifically for each year level.
In 2012, 2014 and 2016 we offered a trip to Canberra. This was an exciting opportunity for our students to visit some of Australia’s national icons.
LWLC also make use of specialist music teachers for individual instrumental tuition such as piano based keyboard, violin, guitar lessons, etc. The availability of teachers and instrumental classes depend on the student numbers for the specific instrument as well as the availability of teachers. Students are able to take lessons at the school.
A variety of sports are offered each term in our Active After School Sport Program. This is a free program which operates three times a week during the school term.
