The Physical Education program aims to provide all children with the opportunity to:
Ball sports: Skills include passing, throwing, trapping, catching, kicking, hitting and goal targeting. Australian Rules football, basketball, cricket, netball and soccer develop a range of hand-eye ball skills and foot-eye coordination. Students are encouraged to participate in games at a level that is appropriate to their ability. Coaches are brought in from the local community to help students to develop skills in these areas.
Swimming lessons are conducted annually by qualified instructors.
Our House system divides students into four groups (Canning, Murray, Serpentine and Swan) with each house named after a local waterway. Students represent their House groups in three major carnivals each year; swimming, athletics and cross-country.
Living Waters is a member of the Peel School Sports Association (PSSA) which offers sporting competitions against other independent and public schools from within the local and wider Peel community. Students are provided with opportunities during Term Two to represent Living Waters at the inter-school level in soccer, netball and volleyball.
The PSSA hosts sport carnivals for swimming, athletics (track and field) and cross country. Students who successfully compete in our House Carnivals may be selected to represent Living Waters at the PSSA level.
Students in Kindergarten to Year 6 are timetabled for two weekly 50 minutes Physical Education sessions. Other daily Physical Education is encouraged.
